Italian Council of Ministers approved the Legislative Decree concerning implementation of EU Directive on Copyright: Authors and Editors obtain the right of remuneration (fair compensation /equo compenso) by ISP and Social networks. The Commission in Italian Parliament approved amendment to the Legislative Decree which improves the importance of agreements and collective companies on negotiations of contracts with Social networks and ISPs, into consideration of the principle of proportionality in remuneration systems. The proportionality should consider the importance of potential success of the author’s or editor’s products, also in future utilizations by platforms.

Moreover, it has been taken into consideration the importance of Music Copyrights, where the streaming should be considered in proper agreements by parties, with consideration of a fair compensation for the authors.

In case of problem by the parties on quantifying the fair compensation, each party can apply AGCOM.

An important improvement on protection of Copyrights and the Authors.
