The law will enter into force on 1st January 2017 and provides new rules in all aspects of the audiovisual and cinema sector, financing and tax facilitation to improve cinema and audiovisual industry.
The new Law (called “Legge Franceschini”) will institute a Found for investments in audiovisual and cinema of minimum 400 Million euro pro year. Founds will be provided by State taxes imposed to the sector’s companies.
The Law delegates Government to reform the Italian Public Register for audiovisual rights and promotes European products.
Moreover, the Law establishes a Superior Council for audiovisual and cinema which will be competent for high advice on all matters in the area of audiovisual and cinema policy.
